Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in removal (deportation) proceedings before EOIR and in USCIS interviews. You must be able to travel short notice if the hearing is not virtual.
- Develop creative and strategic legal defenses tailored to each client’s case.
- Draft and file motions, legal briefs, and supporting documents with precision and timeliness.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and case analysis to inform advocacy.
- Appear in immigration court for master calendar and individual hearings.
- Build trusting client relationships, communicate complex legal processes clearly, and maintain a compassionate, culturally sensitive approach.
- Collaborate with legal support staff, other attorneys, and intake teams.
- Participate in firmwide huddles, case strategy reviews, and professional development sessions.
- Travel as needed for in-person court appearances throughout Florida and possibly beyond.
- Support ST Law’s reputation for outstanding results and client care by meeting high professional standards and contributing to internal team culture.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state (Florida Bar preferred but not required).
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in immigration law, specifically in removal defense or deportation litigation (Preferred but litigation experience a must)
- In-depth understanding of EOIR procedures, USCIS processes, and relevant case law.
- Strong oral advocacy, legal writing, and case management skills.
- Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Commitment to social justice, client advocacy, and community impact.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus but not required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: Starting from $95,000 annually
- Incentives: Monthly and quarterly performance-based bonuses
